I have not read all of the above articles, but we even have a place called Hell in Norway, so if you would like to spend a night at Hell Hotel, then just search it up, book a vacation close to the city of Trondheim in mid Norway! :)
We’re not worse then what you have read about the Vikings… ;)

I must say I find comments like Erics quite amusing; “I hate Norway and Norwegians”. LOL! You are aware of, I assume, that you are free to leave whenever you want – or have you adopted to much to the overly generous welfare system?

There are several comments in this thread that are very interesting, and I too believe that the atheist number is somewhat high. The Christians in this country are not as loud and extreme as you would find in many other countries, but I believe that many have some type of “faith” anyway. Personally I am a member of the state church while at the same time being an outspoken Darwinist, without anyone thinking twice about it. The state religion and church, upon which this country is basically built, has good core values and I think many Norwegians agree with them without buying into the whole “God” thing.

The biggest problem facing our planet today is population problem.
Population is a big issue. Thomas Malthus was the person who pointed out the problem first. He clouded the issue with talk of food supplies and arithmetical ratios. The growing population faces many problems like illiteracy, unemployment, poverty etc.

I, being an atheist, can’t really support that idea.

A great deal of knowledge has been preserved by religious people in monasteries and the like during complicated times of human history, and served as a decent mean to control society and not let it devolve into the bronze age again (the dark ages for example).
