No where does the bible teach that one must belong to a certain "correct" church, but the church of christ (which is not the roman catholic church). The Roman catholic church (especially their counsel of trent counter reformation against Luther) stick to heretical teachings of works-justification even when the apostle Paul clearly says that a man is saved by faith and faith alone, and James follows up and says that the saving faith will show good fruit (a hatred of sin etc.). which shows that it is genuine.
