It is also a false atheist BELIEF that religion causes more deaths (and also that atheism causes more deaths). Cartoons like these are thus bad in 2 ways, it enforces the meme of "religion causes deaths" and it is counter productive in opening a dialogue. Atheism is backed up by philosophy and science so this cartoon is strange since it is against these very foundations. Check out the "Does God exist" forum on Multiply for a long thread on discussion on the validity of this meme. I think these kind of cartoons are counter productive.
