No… no no no no no…
This is, without a doubt, the most frightening thing one can witness.
I don’t even know what to say.
When I see incidents like this and combine it with my experiences working with university students (I’m a systems administrator at a computer science department in a state university), it makes me realize all the more how we’re failing in public education.
Teaching the facts is indisputably important, but it seems we no longer teach critical thinking skills along with the data. If children are taught in school how to think logically and to use the evidentiary process, then even indoctrination such as this will eventually crumble.
I wasn’t subjected to this level of conditioning, but I had a similar youth. When I was taught how to think, by a very wise teacher in school, the rest fell into place and it became evident to me by age twelve that the Bible I had been told to believe, was superstitious nonsense.
Critical thinking is the key to enlightenment. We need to stress this skill again.
Having been raised in “the church”, I was fortunate enough to be exposed to a very open minded leader (I hesitate to call him a Preacher or a Priest, as he used intelligence in his lessons) who said “Creation is simply a word used for when something comes into being. You create a work of art, you create a website, you create a new life when you have a baby. You can even create a scene when you yell fire in a crowded theater.
Evolution is the change that begins the instant AFTER creation. If there was no evolution, no change, we all would still be a zygot. Evolution is PART of the FACTS of life. It is when you cling to the assumption that because a word does not appear in the Bible it is not fact that you reveal your stupidity to the world.”
Sadly, he only taught the one year and was politely “asked” to worship elsewhere. In my opinion, the world needs more church people like him- people who can use the Bible as words of personal comfort and instruction, much like a favorite book of poems, or JFK’s “Profiles in Courage” for example, instead of as the do-all end-all be-all of blind followers, and still retain their ability to look at facts and accept them as what they are- facts outside of faith. Just my two cents worth.
I actually had the “privilege” of seeing Ken Ham at one of these events when I was a kid. It had a big effect on me and I still remember some of the things he spoke about. Now, seeing stuff like this just makes me sick. These kids have no idea what’s going on and they are way too young to evaluate this kind of information by themselves. The attitude of “God did it and you don’t question God” is utterly rediculous and is blatently opposed to the scientific mindset.
I think your a fag.
Unlike Christians, Muslims believe that Dinosaurs live millions of years ago and exsisted.
It mentions it quiet a few times too.
just thought i’d let you know
ok… well, I don’t really know enough to about the Koran to confirm or deny what you are asserting, but I suspect your dinosaurs aren’t much different than the “Behemoth” or “Leviathan” from the Bible in that there are vague descriptions of some large creature and people retcon it into something specific. If I’m wrong, so be it, but it still does nothing to make the “God said it so it’s true” attitude any more scientific. Science is based on evidence, not assertions (supernatural or otherwise).
no it says that they are large reptiles and that there remains will soon be found….that doesn’t sound very obscure to me
Why call him a fag?
You really are so full of shit.
Next you’ll be saying that the winged horse Mohammed used to visit Heaven was actually the last surviving Pterodactyl… Or Pegasus.
well im not saying that does sound lime a pile of shit, but why don’t you try to find things that make islam look bad rather than make fun of a flying horse.
Hmm… I dunno, those monkey pictures looked a lot like MY grandfather. ;-)
