Fundie Ramblings: Part 7

Sorry for the long delay. Part 8 will be this Sunday.

[When asked 'Why do christians want to label atheism a religion, when we are Irreligious?']

Because it takes faith to not believe in God. Most Athiests believe in evolution which is a system of beliefs based on faith. None of us were there, so we have to believe what happened without actually witnessing it. Athiests are more dogmatic, arrogant, and in your face than any Christian I’ve ever met. And this is what they criticize Christians for. Talk about hypocrisy! Read these religious questions – most of them are athiests mocking Christianity, and if they aren’t then athiests fill up half the anwers with rude crap.

The truth is you don’t really believe what you claim that you believe. Oh, you wax eloquently about “God” and his “precious word” and his “precious Son, Jesus;” you carry on about what all God has done for you and how he has blessed you, and all the while you sound like you are not only trying to convince others of what you believe, you sound like you are also trying to convince yourself.

I think C.S. Lewis said it best. I love his quote below.
A man can no more diminish God’s glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, ‘darkness’ on the walls of his cell.

Q-If God created the world 6,000 years ago or so, why are stars millions of light years away?

A-Brendon, what a question! Yes, we know from the dates God gives us in the Bible that He did create the whole universe about 6,000 years ago. When we hear the term light-year, we need to realize it is not a measure of time but a measure of distance, telling us how far away something is. Distant stars and galaxies might be millions of light-years away, but that doesn’t mean that it took millions of years for the light to get here, it just means it is really far away!

Ha ha ha Ken Ham made my day.
Another moron who is too simple to comprehend such a vast scale of space and time.
A “light-year” is indeed a measure of distance but it is directly relative to time.
How much time? The clue is in the name you fucking ignoramus.

Someone please punch Ken Ham in the face. There’s only so much time in this life, and he surely can’t leave this world without a punching.

The best part is the exclamation point.
It implies that Ken was really excited to share his knowledge with a fellow buffoon. The thrill of having a chance to tell someone a portion of what we can only assume is a vast amount of knowledge of the universe was amazing to him. I picture him explaining this excitedly as you often see young kids explaining things to each other in cartoons. (At least back when cartoons meant Rugrats. Anyone?)
    Exclamation points. Fuck yeah!

If the stars were placed in position 6000 years ago, we would not be able to see them because it would still take more than 6000 light years for the light to reach us.
