Shoot UK teacher, say protesters
What’s wrong with religion? Here’s a prime example. A teacher somehow manages to insult their non-existent god by naming a stuffed animal the same name as their god in a class full of small children; instead of letting their almighty god take care of her blasphemy, they call for blood saying she should be killed.
Shoot UK teacher, say protesters
Thousands of people have marched in the Sudanese capital Khartoum to call for UK teacher Gillian Gibbons to be shot.
Mrs Gibbons, 54, from Liverpool, was jailed by a court on Thursday after children in her class named a teddy bear Muhammad.
She was sentenced to 15 days for insulting religion, and she will then be deported.
The marchers took to the streets after Friday prayers to denounce the leniency of the sentence.
The protesters gathered in Martyrs Square, outside the presidential palace in the capital, many of them carrying knives and sticks.
Marchers chanted “Shame, shame on the UK”, “No tolerance – execution” and “Kill her, kill her by firing squad”.
Hundreds of riot police were deployed but they did not break up the demonstration.

Don’t forget about the Jehovah’s Witness who just died: an 8th grade boy who refused a blood transfusion during chemotherapy. Stupid, stupid people!

I’m sure he’s much happier now that he’s dead than if he were still alive….

See…there’s no way we can win. They live in a place that has a section called “Martyrs Square”. You can’t fight that kind of fanatcism with logic and intelligence.

This points to the issue I have with people who claim that Islam is a “religion of peace.” If most Muslims are so damn peaceful, why do thousands of them rally for murder time after time after time? If the “extreme” views are held by such a minority, why aren’t these rallies attended by tens of people rather than thousands? I’m sorry, but my BS meter is blaring. I can’t help thinking more Muslims hold “extremist” views than are willing to admit it.

Isn’t Muhammad a common muslim name anyway?

Yep. They’re idiots.
Also, it should be noted that it was the kids that wanted to name the bear, not the teacher.

As a libertarian, I do not agree with Bush’s war on Iraq. I don’t believe that any country should wage war on another country for the good “supposedly†of that other country despite it might mean to bring democracy.
Having said all that, since I am also practical, I don’t mind Bush’s bombs in the middle east, or any other islamo-fascist country. It’s not right, I know, but you can not deal with those treats using reason, tolerance, respect, and other requiring intelligence solutions.
Since their quest is to turn us into “good muslims†or else, as an atheist I say bomb them all, there is no choice.
Now, for non muslims living in those countries run as the middle ages, why are they there? Fine, some were born in those places and have no choice, but a teacher from Liverpool has no business in a place were they hate you for not suffering the same mental illness, for being a woman, and a woman that teaches and knows more basic stuff that the “holiest†Iman.

She was probably there as a humanitarian trying to help Sudan.. but when they do things like this, they show how undeserving they are of her help.

As a human, I do not agree with the war in Iraq. And since I’m also practical, I know that the only way to deal with anything in life is by using reason, tolerance, respect, and intelligent solutions.

Yickth Woovle: what happens when you confront one that does not think like you? that has never used reason, tolerance, respect, and intelligent solutions!!! Instead, was brain washed and knows that by converting you to Islam, or if you “denounce” the religion of peace will be compelled to kill you, to gain points to go to heaven. Your points are very valid for someone that can reason like you, the problem is for those that no reason is a valid one………. god told them while “praying”, it is also written in the “good book”….. sure, peace is highly sought after, can not always be the way….. and for those, and only those an F-18 is always better than a discussion.

LuisFP, you seem to be saying that reason, tolerance, respect, and intelligent solutions can only work if everyone else is doing it, and so unreasonable, intolerant, disrespectful, unintelligent violence is the required response to problems.
If that is what you’re saying, then surely you would expect unreasonable, intolerant, disrespectful and unintelligent violence to be met with more unreasonable, intolerant, disrespectful and unintelligent violence, and so on.
Wait, what is this all about again? Oh yeah, it’s about a rally calling for the death of a schoolteacher who allowed her students to name a toy after a revered religious hero. Hmmm.

I think Luis FP is right. If you can’t get people to see things the way you do, you have no choice but to bomb them all to hell. Or shoot them with a firing squad.

I also agree with LuisFP that Bush should bomb Iraq but not the middle east where, erm…, Iraq is located….. damn I haven’t thought this through have I…?

ok, what do you suggest then? love and peace
to all? The islamist problem is real!! I saw it when I lived in Barcelona and London, those people want to impose their views. It is the islam way or else. I agree I don’t know what the best solution is, or in fact, if there is a solution. I will reason with someone that does not agree with me, I want to do it in a civilized way, but if someone doesn’t want to listen to my views and comes out swinging, believe me, I will defend myself. If attacked, you have to meet force with force, trying to give them a flower instead, its not my option.
